The Story Behind The Story

In September 2005 Tyson was "borrowed" by the Atlanta branch of Siemens for an extended period.  Spending two months in an unfamiliar city can be challenging and a bit intimidating.  Luckily Katie took pity on him and gave him the grand tour of Georgia and North Carolina.  During the time he spent here in Atlanta Katie and Tyson began to grow fond of each other.  (Even after all of the driving around they had done)

If you ask Katie about the "loaner" period of the relationship, they weren't dating.  Tyson's end of the story is a bit different,  but let's just say they started dating March 1, 2006.

Realizing the opportunity for professiosonal growth Tyson decided that a move to Atlanta would be a good thing.  He sold his house in Houston, packed all his stuff in a U-Haul and moved to Beverly.  (err... Atlanta)

Time marched on (as it seems to do) and Tyson decided that indeed Katie was the woman that he was to marry.  He asked Katie's father for permission when they were on vacation in Charleston, SC in February.

On March 15th, 2007 Tyson proposed.  It was a typical laid back Katie & Tyson moment - He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him (in the living room).  They had gone together earlier in the week to pick out the engagement ring together so she knew it was coming.

Katie was born in Austin, Minnesota September 8th, 1975.  In 1978 her family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where Katie was raised. She went to North Carolina State in Raleigh, NC and received her BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1998. She has worked for Siemens in various positions in Greensboro, NC & Atlanta, GA for 8 years now and she is currently an Energy Engineer with the national public housing team.

Tyson was born in Houston, Texas July 20th, 1980.  When Tyson was in the 4th grade his family moved to Hockley, TX where he finished High school. He went to Texas A&M in College Station, TX and recieved his BS in Electronics Engineering Technology in 2003. He has worked for Siemens as a Systems Engineer for about 4 years now.
